The Synopsis
September 13, 2025 ushered in the new, Ring Magazine and Undisputed Super Middleweight Champion of the World, Terrence “Bud” Crawford. Destiny in sports, that unexplainable force which seems to script outcomes beyond logic, appears to have played its hand once again. Because legend has it that when Terrence was born, he came out the womb, he came out with his hands bowled up and when his father saw him, he said ” We have a million-dollar baby boy.”
More than being a million-dollar earner as evidenced by his $50 million pay day in his fight against Canelo, Bud has proven himself to be a truly one-in-a million fighter. Across his career, Terrence has held 18 different world championships in five different weight classes. And in this four-belt era, Terrence is the undisputed champion across the major recognized belts in boxing namely the WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO. With this win, joins Henry Armstorng as the second-ever male three weight undisputed champion, meaning he is the undisputed champion in three different weight divisions(Jr Welterweight, Welterweight and Super Middleweight).
Against the back drop of a long list of boxing achievements, which include a fighting record of 42 – 0 and recognition as the best boxer of the year on several platforms including the Sugar Ray Robinson Award and the ESPYs, Terrence will go down as one of the best boxers to have ever played the sport. The most recent debate since his victory on Saturday is whether Terrence is the best of all time? In the opinion of others, he must pass the test of “Greatest of his era”, whilst for others, he has already earned the title of “Best Fighter of the planet“.
Whatever your opinion is, one thing that is undeniable: Terrence was born September 28, 1997, on Larimore Avenue in a rough part of Omaha Nebraska. He beat the odds of an impoverished environment and a troubled childhood to become one of Boxing’s greatest fighters and ambassadors. His numbers speak for themselves, but in my opinion, his ability to harness his inner rage and couple that with the technique and art of boxing speaks higher volumes for what can truly be achieved through the power of sport and more so for it’s ability to change one’s life.

The Kawhi Leonard scandal has rocked the NBA, centering on a $28 million endorsement deal with the now-defunct company, Aspiration. According to investigative journalist Pablo Torre, Leonard’s contract required no actual work, raising suspicions that it was a scheme to circumvent the NBA’s salary cap. Aspiration, partly funded by Clippers owner Steve Ballmer, allegedly funneled money to Leonard without him fulfilling promotional obligations.
The NBA has launched an investigation, hiring the law firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz to examine potential violations. Commissioner Adam Silver emphasized the league’s commitment to a thorough and fair process, stating, “This investigation will take time”. In defense, Ballmer has denied any wrongdoing, asserting he was unaware of the deal’s structure and welcomed the NBA’s inquiry
The outcome of this investigation could have significant implications for the Clippers and the broader NBA, potentially leading to penalties such as fines, suspensions, or loss of draft picks
